Eye Love Africa was born out of the love of connection shared by Sussi and Brigitte on one of their trips in Africa – the beloved continent where their friendship and lives have been forged for the past 30 years. They are best friends, partners in crime and have both cultivated prolific careers in the travel industry. Together they have travelled Africa extensively; these travels have led them to encounter many motivated and socially responsible causes. Now is the time, evermore, to create such a cause together; one unified by their values and their shared love for travel in Africa. 

 

Whilst in Victoria Falls, they came across a situation whereby the waiter on duty struggled to read their menu – not because of lack of literacy, but because his slighted eyesight interfered with his ability to communicate in his work. A lightbulb moment ensued for Sussi and Brigitte, and they decided from this point to create a concept in which they could create a socially responsible endeavour aimed at helping those who need Reader-type glasses to help the quality of their lives. Many of the people they encounter in the service industry in hotels and lodges are of mature ages and have limited access to glasses as we would have in bigger cities.
